About Tech Singularity 2026 — Introduction

We live in an era of rapid technological advancement. The convergence of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and robotics is reshaping the blueprint for the smart economy with unprecedented momentum. AI (Artificial intelligence) enables data-driven insights and automated decision-making, injecting intelligent capability into industries. Robotics transcends physical limitations, extending from industrial manufacturing to healthcare, retail, and everyday services while enhancing efficiency and precision. Cybersecurity safeguards the integrity and trustworthiness of digital infrastructure, underpinning the digital economy. Together with the foundational support of databases and cloud technologies, the synergistic evolution of these three technologies forms a solid cornerstone for smart cities.

In response to this trend, the Hong Kong Information Technology Joint Council (HKITJC) is organizing Tech Singularity 2026: Smart Economy Powered by Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Robotics. The programme aims to bring together industry experts, academic leaders, technology developers, tertiary students and the public to explore how artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and robotics can drive the development of a smart economy. Through a series of activities, including conference, workshops and an smart economy competition, the programme seeks to inspire innovative thinking, nurture local talent, and promote cross-sector collaboration. By focusing on these key technology areas and convening experts and innovators from across the industry, Tech Singularity 2026 will explore the limitless possibilities of technology convergence, ultimately helping Hong Kong strengthen its position as a leading international technology hub and accelerate its vision of becoming a premier smart economy hub.
